CPS, ICS, OT – Finding Your Way Through the Maze of OT Terminology

Content of the Presentation

OT security is gaining importance across all industries at a rapid pace. Yet confusion often begins with the basic terminology: What exactly distinguishes OT from ICS? Where do Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) end and the Internet of Things (IoT) begin? And does building automation fall within this scope or not?

Anyone approaching the security of operational technologies for the first time is quickly confronted with a jungle of acronyms, overlapping definitions, and sometimes conflicting industry standards.
